Objectives : The main objective of the FI summer school is to establish a European class of excellence in design, analysis and control of wired and wireless IP communication networks and traffic theory and engineering. It will provide up-to-date, well structured information to young research students.

The summer school will:

·       stimulate new collaborate work between researchers, engineers and key-staff people of European research institutions and European telecommunication industry and SMEs

·       promote the joint research of young European scientists

·       establish a further scientific qualification for Ph.D. and research students at the highest European level as an integral part of their research activities

·       strengthen the efforts on scientific education in the research areas of the NoE

·       provide up-to-date material for further advanced education in Europe

Description of work

The summer schools will offer blocks of lectures by experienced lecturers. The format will guarantee the active reflection of the presented contents and sufficient interaction among the young European attendance. The summer school is also aimed at those European institutions with few staff. They will get educational support by the help of well-know European scientists that are actively involved prominently in Future Internet research.

The summer school will be organized on behalf of the Management Committee of the NoE by a specific organizing committee in charge of the definition of the overall topic and of the participant selection process. The organization will be financed partly with the funds of the NoE. The latter shall be assigned to the NoE organizers and the attendance by the Management Committee. The summer school will be opened also to members of external laboratories/entities that will have to pay a registration fee.
